The location of the hotel
The classic rooms are very small. My bathroom was very very small and unconfortableno valve for the money(219E)
It was a beautiful hotel in perfect surroundings.
The room was spartan but modern. Being a converted monastry the really have kept the feeling of the long corridors and the "Cells". Everything is clean and confortable. The balcony view we had was magic and the service at breakfast was good but the room could ahve done with a little soft music as all the guests were scared to talk ever to each other and the silence almost defening.
Hotel staff was pleasant. Breakfast was good albeit always the same. The location is right in the village, 200m from the main square. Drinks at the bar were served with a decent set of appetizers. We liked the possibility to have a drink on the terrace with view of the lake and its island.
The room we had (standard double with view of the lake, nr 209) was very small, as was its bathroom. The view on the lake was a joke. Definitely not worth the money. Actually, if you really want to go to this hotel I'd only advise to go for the most expensive rooms. Those are probably the only ones that are worth their price, as it is often the case in such luxury hotels.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel architecture and location were very picturesque. The rooms were very clean and updated.
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Bathroom was modern and very well equipped. Everything was meticulously clean. Breakfast was delicious.
Hard to find. Room was extremely small for the price we paid. Asked for room with lake view, but had to stand out on the very small balcony and lean over to really see the lake. Parking was extremely tight -- we worried about someone damaging our rental car. Staff seemed a bit indifferent.
prices for food and drinks at the bar were crazy
The right question is what did U like ; the answer is complicated to giveThe breakfast was poor (quality of butter for example).
room we stayed in was a little small, comfortable but slightly on the small side
wonderful lakeside terrace and swimming pool
Our room (nr 223) was small, narrow and dark. Small window, purported view on the lake almost unexistent. Bathroom also very small. Air conditioning in the room controlled from the hotel reception. Altogether, disappointing for a four star hotel
a well modernised hotel (though not completely finished) lacking installation of heating and air con in our part of hotel.Handy for town but in a quiet part so very relaxing
Quiet and peaceful. Great vistas, Quaint town offered great restaurants and fod and wine.
The room, the lake and pool, the town, the dining.
I would have liked more storage for clothes.
Fantastic location, great breakfast
A small packet of peanuts and a biscuit, which we thought were complimentary as they were on the tray with the drinking glasses, cost 6 euros..unnecessary considering the room prices...also the parking is an extra 9 euros a day
San Rocco is located in a beautiful little village near Lake Orta.
This hotel, used to be a convent so its a beautiful old building which has recently been renovated. Personally I do not like the decor everything is painted in a mushroom colour. The breakfast room has low ceilings and is quite oppressive.
